Sachin Tendulkar : Pride of India

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973 in Mumbai, Indian state of Maharashtra is an cricketer of India widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. In 2002, Wisden ranked him the second greatest batsman of all time next only to Sir Donald Bradman, and the second greatest ODI batsman of all time next only to Sir Viv Richards. The list was later revised to make him the greatest one-day international (ODI) batsman of all time. In September 2007, Shane Warne, the world-record breaking Australian leg spinner, rated Sachin Tendulkar as the greatest player he has played with or against. Sachin Tendulkar was the only player of the current generation to be included in Bradman's Eleven, the dream team of Sir Donald Bradman, published in his biography. He is sometimes referred to as the Little Master or the Master Blaster.

Tendulkar is the highest run scorer in both Test matches and ODIs, and also the batsman with the most centuries in either form of the game. On October 17, 2008, when he surpassed Brian Lara's record for the most runs scored in Test Cricket, he also became the first batsman to score 12,000 runs in that form of the game, having also been the third batsman and first Indian to pass 11,000 runs in Test cricket. He was also the first player to score 10,000 runs in one-day internationals, and also the first player to cross every subsequent 1000-run mark that has been crossed in ODI cricket history. In the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, Tendulkar surpassed Australia's Allan Border to become the player to cross the 50-run mark the most number of times in Test cricket history, and also the second ever player to score 10 Test centuries against Australia, after only Sir Jack Hobbs of England more than 70 years back.[16] Tendulkar has been honored with the Padma Vibhushan award, India's second highest civilian award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India's highest sporting honor.

Lata Mangeshkar - The Nightingale of India

Singer Lata Mangeshkar is one of the best singers of the Indian film industry. Lata Ji is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in the world. It is estimated that Lata Mangeshkar has more than 30,000 solo, duet and chorus backed India songs in 20 different languages of India from 1948 to 1987. Now, it must way over 50,000! Lata Mangeshkar was born on 28th of September, 1929 in a beautiful place called Indore , Mp. Her father Dinanath Mangeshkar was a renowned great classical singer himself. Lata was introduced to Indian music at a very young age. The life history of Lata Mangeshkar is truly fascinating. Must Read this short biography of Lata Mungeshkar.

Lata Mangeshkar was very young when her father passed away, thus making the family dependant on Lata. To take care of her family's economic situation, Lata acted in as many as 8 films from 1942 to 1948. She debuted as playback singer in a Marathi film named Kiti Hasaal (1942). Unfortunately the song was edited out. Her first Hindi playback was for the film Aap ke Sewa Main (1947) but she did not get noticed. At that time, the film industry was ruled by female singers who had heavier and huskier voices like Noor Jehan, Shamshad Begum and Zohrabai Ambalewali. While auditioning for the movie Shaheed (1948), she was rejected on the account of her thin voice! But Ghulam Haider saw the potential in her and gave her a chance to sing in the film Majboor.

The song Dil Mera Toda finally got her noticed and it was touted as her breakthrough song. In 1949, she had four major hits from the films Barsaat, Andaaz, Dulari and Mahal. The song "Aayega Aanewala" from Mahal was a huge hit and Lata secured a firm position in the industry. The husky voices of all other singers became obsolete in front of the high pitched voice of Lata Mangeshkar. The music industry had a huge makeover with the arrival of Lata Mangeshkar. By the late 50's, the younger sister of Lata Mangeshkar known as Asha Bhonsle also came into the scene and they both were touted as the unbeatable voices of the industry.

Lata rose to fame rapidly and made her indelible mark in the industry. She has sung with famous singers like Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, etc. She has perfected almost every genre of music. Her success and determination made her one of the most powerful women in the industry. She refused to sing for the great composer S.D Burman due to some misunderstanding and also stopped singing with Mohammed Rafi. Her power was so immense that they had to come back to her. She actually monopolized the music industry and every music director wanted to work with her. She understood the requirement of each song and sang flawlessly.

Lata Mangeshkar has been honored with innumerable awards but the one that truly deserves a special mention is that she is the only second singer in the non-classical category (after M.S Subbulakshmi) in India to have received the highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna. She has received three national awards and eight Filmfare awards after which she stopped accepting awards in order to promote new talent. She continues to sing every now and then for Hindi movies and perform live. Truly a living legend, Lata Mangeshkar has a talent that is second to none.

Movies Coming To YouTube

A showdown between Hulu.com and the 3-year-old YouTube was inevitable. Although Hulu is accessible to audiences in America only, it has gained as much in advertising dollars as YouTube in a span of just one year.

The ‘less-than-10mins-video’ concept seemed to have spread like wildfire but hasn’t resulted in any profits for YouTube. Which is why the company is now moving to professionally developed content.

Although YouTube is starting with with some studios and smaller films, the future clearly will be about full-length TV shows and feature films.

10 SEX tips you should not ignore

NOW that you are in a physical relationship you probably assume that you know all there is to know. But sex advice does not begin and end with protected sex. While it is important to have protected sex there are a few other things that you must know.

1. Even though you are free of any venereal disease, make sure you have protected sex. This will prevent the possibility of any sexual infection or unwanted pregnancy.

2. Remember, birth control pills are effective only if you take them a month before you start having sex and you need to continue taking them as long as you have sex. If you miss taking the pill for even a day and you have had unprotected sex, you could get pregnant.

3. Most couples believe that standing up or jumping immediately after unprotected sex will prevent unwanted pregnancies. This is a myth bacause if you have had unprotected sex, you can get pregnant or even get sexually transmitted diseases.

4. Most women in India get married early and are sexually active at an early age. Cervical cancer spreads because women are sexually active and bear children at an early age. So get a Pap smear test done just to be on the safe side.

5. If your body does not produce enough natural lubrication, you can use lubricants available in the market. Check with your gynaecologist about the brands available.

6. Stay monogamous. While being with several men may be the trend these days, remember that you are exposing yourself to a host of STDs. So stick to one man and stay safe.

7.Video recording sex sessions are not a good idea, especially if you are not married to the man. While it may be over-the-top to do it, it is also very risky. You never know where the tape may land up. So say no to video-recording.

8. If you are uncomfortable with having sex with your partner for whatever reason, it is okay for you to say no. Only do things that you are comfortable with. You do not have to be a 'Yes' woman.

9. Make sure that you get a complete medical test done annually once you are sexually active. Incase you suspect STDs, get yourself tested for it. There is nothing to be ashamed or scared about. Get yourself treated before it is too late.

10. Are you bored of your sex life? Then experimenting with foreplay and sex always helps spice things up.

So go ahead girls, stay safe and stay protected.
